Referred by Paul Jacob uncle's contact we performed a concert on the 18th and the one 0n the 21st Jan'09 was Dr. Ganesh Srinivasan's - Doha, friend's daughter's wedding. 9 year old Abhisek a student of Sri Srikant Koundinya, who is a sishya of Vidwan Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan performed for about 20 mts prior to my concert and he was indeed singing very well and appa appreciated his efforts and announced that he has all the great things for becoming a great Singer in the near future. Our concert also went well, a Sai bhajan to start with and one more to end with as the family was all full of Sai devotees. It was also nice of my great well wishers Kalyan uncle & Janaki aunty to have made it to this concert.
I also tried a Jugalbandhi kind of piece with Hindholam, Rageyshree adn Mohanam on ragamalika and it came out very well., thanks to Venkat anna on violin, Suri uncle on Mrudhangam, Swami anna on Ghatam, Sathya on Morsing and most importantly Krishnababu appa on Kanjeera. Yes he attempted playing and he was indeed successful in doing so with praises from all the other artists leave alone my self. I was thrilled when Smt Aruna Babi, a retired Hindustani Music Professor of Punjab University appreciated my efforts while playing in Hindustani style on Harmonium tone and she even came up on stage and sang a bhajan for which i accompanied her on the same Hindustani style. She appreciated and it was a great blessings for me.
The stay at Kumbakonam in Sri Jayakumar uncle's was great with all of us involved in playing Cricket and it was wonderful to interact with is son Kalpesh who is a gifted painter and a good artist. Given above a picture of Lord Krishna and i am with him and KVG anna. The trip to Madurai from there in a Qualis was very interesting with karthick uncle keeping us all occupied with his jokes also supported well by A.S. Krishnan uncle. We had a real good time both on and off the concert stage and i look forward to many such oppurtunities to come by!
I had Sri Mohan uncle - a Keybaord artiste from Melbourne, with his wife at home on the 3rd Jan'09 and we spent good time at home interacting with each other. I was so happy to see his keyboard which was weighing just around 5-6 kgs. However as it had the bender in the vertical position i am not convinced to use same for my eprformances as i am now used to the pitch bender in the horizontal position. Here is the video clipping os the interation and hope you all like it. Smt. Mohan aunty was very nice and she also sang a song which was really good. They did not bring their child and i am sure the child will be an artist material for sure! You can watch more of our interations in teh following links :

A great stand indeed as i reached Music Academy 1130 pm on 31st Dec'08 in time to join great musicians who had assembled to sing "Entharo Mahanubhavulu" welcoming Year 2009 bang at 0001 hrs 01 Jan'09! Around 0030 hrs i also got an oppurtunity to perform a krithi "Niravathy Sukatha" making it my first solo performance on stage for the year 2009! Thanks to "Carnatica" who had organised this function. Till date many people have been appreciating me for that one krithi rendered at the Music Academy which only goes to show how successful Carnatica & its team were!! Kudos to their efforts.
This was followed up with a concert at Sri Panjamuka Anjeneya Temple festival in Mylapore where i played from 7 - 9 am and i could not have asked for a better start for the New Year Day - 01 Jan'09 - a performance at the Music Academy followed by a solo concert for 2 hrs in the morning which also went very well with the grace of the Almighty! Looking forward to a great year ahead.
