Concert on the 15th May'08

This was a concert which i was playing with another new team of Sherthalai Sivakumar anna on violin, Kumbakonam Saravanan uncle on Mrudhangama nd EM Subramaniam uncle on Ghatam. It was one of the pleasant concert with lot of energy but as usual most of the best concerts do not get recorded and this was one of them. Both my Transcend and also the one of Karthick audio did not have enough battery and so we could not record this. H/ever it was indeed a good concert with all of us enjoying it.

Private concert in Chennai on 12th May'08

In this concert after a long time we had Prem uncle (Brother of Great Drums Vidwan Sivamani uncle) with us and with Ananthakrishnan anna on violin, Arjun Ganesh anna on Mrudhangam, Pradeep uncle on Tabla, Hari anna on Ghatam and Suri uncle on Bass guitar we had a good team and presented a concert with classical, devotional and film numbers. I also rehearsed the Revathy piece of my guru Kalaimamani Kum. A. Kanyakumari with Arjun Ganesh anna at home and performed in the evening. All the others followed it, this umber got good applause from the audience. Applause transferred to my guru for her great composition.

Interesting thing was that i played viol duet with AK (Ananthakrishnan) anna for Manayavyalakim! After announcing the song, there was drop in voltage because of which my keyboard could not function. AK anna was so nice to offer his second violin (which he had brought luckily!). When appa gave this suggestion not only the audience but even myself was surprised but decided to do it because i had just on the 10th sat for the 70 violin ensemble and that gave me the confidence to perform. AK anna appreciated my effort and it was so nice of him to have offered his instrument for me to play with. Private concert on the 11th May'08


It was one of the longest distance i traveled for a concert!! less than a kilometer! The venue was very near my house and the concert was organised and attended by one of my great well wisher Balu uncle (TS Mahalingam Sons). Our team with Venkat anna on violin, Calcutta Karthick anna on Mrudhangam and Hari anna on the Ghatam & Morsing had some difficulties because of the echo nature of the hall and thanks to Thirunavukarasu uncle - Karthik Audio, we had a good presentation. I had the oppurtunity to meet my school friend and his family also in this concert.

A day i will remember for ever - My first concert with violin 10th May'08

Sathya in 70 Violin concert in Kalaimamani Kum A. Kanyakumari's grand show at Bangalore 10May'08

It was a great show of the melody of Violin and i was happy to have been a part, thanks to my guru Kanyakumari madam to have given this oppurtunity. It was also an amzing audience turn out inspite of the busy interesting IPL matches and the election which was on in Bangalooru on the 10th May'08.

I really missed my uncle Embar Kannan and i am happy to give you a link for the photos taken during the rehearsal, mike test and the concert performance. Credits to appa for that, however please bear with few which have not come good.

A great oppurtunity came in to me when i got a call from Murugan uncle (Incharge of artists for recordings in studios) two days before informing that Sri Raj Koti a leading Music Director of Telugu Movies had shown interest to take me as an artist for his forthcoming project with krithis of Annamacharya. This was a project done for TTD, Tirupathy and to be released on the 20th of this month.

I had a great experience for the last two days with oppurtunity to perform under Sri Raj Koti (has composed music for the krithis on melody part) and Sri L. Krishnan, who has scored the BGM for the krithis. It was also nice to work with great experienced people like Lakshman and Madhu uncles on percussion along with Sri Rajagopal uncle on Timing, Kishore anna on Sitar, Yogesh uncle who handled Harp, Santoor and Mandolin, Kiran uncle on Flute, Mohan uncle who was conductor for the project. The project was recorded on the 8th and 9th of May'08 and these days will be in my mind for a long time. Koti uncle has assured me to call me for his recordings , not just as a keyboard player but performing Carnatic on Keyboard. It is indeed a great thing for me. Thanks to Murugan umle the incharge, Koti uncle, Krishnan uncle and Sri Kamisetty Srinivasulu - Special Officer TTD for giving me this oppurtunity.

Private Concert on 07 May'08

This was a concert i had the oppurtunity to perform a full length concert with Sherthalai Sivakumar anna on violin along with Arjun Ganesh anna on Mrudhangam and Hari anna on the Ghatam. The audience gave a feeling of being in a sabha concert and with all of us clicking as a team the concert came out well. Sivakumar anna despite a sprain in his leg managed to give his hundred person and was also performing with the silent violin. It is so nice that people are turning towards this gadget as the sound is really good when played with proficiency.

A concert in a Echo Hall - 06 May-08

It was a big hall but the acoustics was not god but for Deepak anna who handled the audio well to suit to the environment. It was also for the first time I was performing with Sherthalai Ananthakrishnan uncle on Mrudhangam for a full concert and it came out very well. Karaikal Venkat anna with the silent on violin had some trouble with the wires but managed well and with Sowri uncle on full frm with Ghatam and Morsing, the concert came out well to get the appreciation.

Concert at an open air for a keen lovable audience 24th Apr'08
I enjoyed playing this concert, as i do others, particularly in a wedding concert which was very attentive,knowledgeable and appreciative too. Yes most of our concerts are like this and this was a presentation myself with VenkataSubramaniam anna on violin, Thillaisthanam Suriyanarayanan uncle on mrudhangam, Sowrirajan uncle on Ghatam, Kanjeera and Morsing alongwith the Karthick uncle (Audio person) will remember for a long time to come.

There were many Sai devotee and in fact Mr Sriram a strong devotee sang a bhajan and i learnt it on stage just before the start and presented it much to his joy. The reaction he showed when i played will be there in my eyes for ever. It only showed / taught to satisfy people as much as possible as they get the best pleasure out of the music media. Thanks to KrishnaRam uncle who was instrumental for this presentation and it was indeed a great day for us.

A concert with oth Carnatic & film numbers 24 Apr'08


This was a concert which was actually booked around Aug'08 and we were eagerly looking forward for this presentation. The team of Ananthakrihsnan anna on violin, Sowrirajan uncle on Thavil, Sriram anna on Rhythm Pad, Gerard uncle on Bass guitar, Suri uncle on Mrudhangam and Bala anna on Nadaswaram jived so well that even the test piece for PA system was applauded the audience as it was our on the spot idea number on ragam Vasanthi.

It was great fun all throughout the concert with ideas pouring well from our minds and it was indeed one of the great shows we as team has presented for this much awaited concert. I liked the outcome of the Sai Bhajan 'Krishna Madhava' which got applause from one and all present including the artists themselves. Interesting info is that the Nadaswaram band for the wedding was there al through out and appreciated my efforts to play both forms of music to bring the best of them.

A new atempt with Nadaswaram instead of Violin - 23Apr'08

It was a new attempt by us in this concert with Nadhaswaram in place of Violin and BalaSundaram anna did a wonderful concert with me. Swaminathan anna on Mrudhangam, Hari anna on Ghatam & Morsing and Pradeep uncle on Tabla were excellent and the concert came out very well with appreciation from all the audience. Once again it was not like a concert in a private function but was like a concert held in a Sabha. Thank you audience and thanks to Thirunavukaru anna of Karthick audio for a good PA System provided as usual.

Concert on the 20th April'08 Morning

We reached home very late yesterday night and as we had a concert for Grahapravesham of our well wisher where i was to perform with Akkarai Swarnalatha on violin and Manikudi Chandrasekaran uncle on mrudhangam, got up early and was in their new house by 8:30am. We had a presentation of about 100 mts and it was a chamber concert. I was happy to get appreciation from Swarnalatha's father and also Chandrasekaran uncle as this was the first time i was performing with him. A good house and hope we gave a good concert too!

A concert with my Nephew on the 19th April'08



After the concert for the inauguration of Eesa Yoga it was today for a private wedding function and when we arrived at the hall, i was pleasantly surprised by the huge crowd. We as a team gave i think a good evening of music for them as many had stayed back to appreciate us and also bought my albums. I performed with my nephew after a long time as he just finished his 12th Std and he was on the Rhythm Pad. We all enjoyed the show with Villiwakkam Raghuraman uncle on violin, Ramesh uncle on the Tabla, Suri uncle on Bass guitar, Sowrirajan uncle on Thavil and Arjun Ganesh anna on the Mrudhangam As usual Sangeetha Raja anna of Karthick audio fixed our PA system in a good way and the success was also mainly due his good work as well.

It was indeed a concert i liked very much for the youth audience in the IT industry for Tenth Planet Technologies and it came out very good. I also had the great opportunity to know about Yoga in a clear way and it has made me to decide in joining this course at this new Center opened yesterday at the basement of # 807 Anna Salai, Chennai 600002. (opp LIC main office).

Swamianathan anna on Mrudhangam and Sowre uncle on Ghatam, Morsing, Kanjeera and Konnakol gave an excellent presentation and all of us also enjoyed the good food at the end of the concert. I look forward to going to this office and having more interaction with the CEO Sri Kumaran Mani uncle and Sai uncle. I was moved when a sadhu / volunteer from Eesha center decided to give a gift of Rs 1000/- by cheque and hope i get an oppurtunity to perform in front of Guruji as a lead artist. I had performed there with Dr Ghatam Karthick uncle's heArtbeat two years back for Maha Sivarathiri.

It was a concert i was looking forward which came thru just on the 11th when appa was asked if we can perform on the 14th April'08 at the Sringeri Saradhambal Temple in Kruupasankari Street, West Mambalam, Chennai. It was so because i was born and also was there staying in the same street for almost 6 years now and my first ever public concert for may be 15 mts with patriotic songs on keyboard was also at the same street. So it was so nice to have got the oppurtunity to perform here in front of known people who probably had seen me playing cricket and doing cycling all through out in the street! I all felt good when i saw few of my friends whom i had played with, in the first row and they all were very nice and kind to come and appreciate me! It was also great to get Prasadam from guruji Ramakrishnan like this!

It was nice of Ramjhi uncle to call me on stage to take photos with Sri SPB sir at Bhartatia Vidya Bhavan where Issai Mazhalai's this year series of concerts , i.e. Second Friday of every month and also a week festival in dec 14 - 21st'08. Ramjhi uncle called all the achievers on stage and i was one among them and was happy to be a part of this great organisation of Ramjhi uncle. Erode Anatharaman gave a performance with Shyam on violin, AkshayRam on Mrudhangam and Krishna on Ghatam after which SPB uncle spoke and appreciated every one's talents. It was a great day to start Ramanavami day! This black & white photo i like taken by appa of mine!

A good concert i will remember for the Charukesi Varnam 12th Apr'08

I enjoyed the concert very much and thanks to Suri uncle for asking me to play the Charukesi varnam and i have fallen in love with that Lalgudi sir varnam. The ambience was so spiritual and i am giving few photos of Lord Rama and Anjaneya here. The organiser felicitated me with a big garland, almost my size, it was too heavy also! Amma tooka picture and am giving that also. The violin tone of Ak anna was really good and Chandru ws really 'kalakaraChandru' only this day.

Amma as solo singer for a TV serial title song

I had a good concert yesterday [11h April, 2008] and in the middle amma got a call for a recording. As i was performing on stage she just signed me and i thought it was another recording. After my concert and went to the studio with appa to pick her up and was happy to listen to the track she had sung - a title song for the Raj TV serial to be on air very shortly. The music has been scored by Mr Ravi and hope this will be thru' and all of you can listen to her voice in Raj TV. 

Concert to be remembered for many first attempts! 7Apr08 - Coimbatore

It was indeed a concert in which many things were attempted for the first time. Yes I tried Gananayakam in ragam Poornashadjam, Parvathi Nayakane in Shanmugapriya, Hari anna tried Morsing and myself out of my own interest when we had a small break during the concert tried Ghatam!

I am sure every thing came out very well as Venkat anna (violin) and Suri uncle (mrudhangam) apart from the organisers appreciated us in total. How ever i do not know to what level my Ghatam experiment was!! A concert which will be remembered for just not our execution on stage but also with the fond memories having played cricket and chess during this trip to our hearts content!.Here is the video clippings of this concert and you can also listen to the audio in www.sangeethamshare.org/sathya and opt for s.no. 009. I had a great experience at Sivam, Hyderabad with appearance of Swami himself in the face of Sri Somayajalu while performing! It was amidst a large devotees of Swamiji the concert was performed with Sri Rajesh on violin, Sri Somayajulu on Mrudhangama and his sishya on ghatam. As per the request of Sri Pattabi - the organiser and many devotees, i performed popular krithis and bhajans. Hope I would get an oppurtunity to perform at Parthi also!
