Concert at Vijawada - 29th April 2007

It was indeed a different type of weather i experienced in Vijayawada with dry heat. Fortunately we had ac room and so escaped from teh heat. However in the stage it was like a oven and still managed to eprform a 2 hr 45 mts concert. I was happy with the large audience and also with the presence of Sri Anapuram Ramaswamy uncle whom i had met him in Bangalore during the convention of Sri Sri Ravishankarji's Art of Living concert. The hotel we stayed also housed lots of ants and spiders and i was always having a fear if they will bite. Nothing happened till we left the room. The food given by the attenders were excellent.

The train journey was simply great in chaircar and we also wont forget the journey as we had witnessed an accident with our TTR who fell from the moving train to save a lady who had just jumped out. Due to the prompt action of the guard (luckily our coach was just before the guard's coach) the train stopped immediatley and the TTR escaped with minor injury. Appa & myself were standing near the door and saw this action. A nightmarish experience indeed.

A private concert in Chennai 28th April'07

The concert today for a private function was totally different with the entire auditorium in silence for almost throughout the concert. It was arranged by EMS mama (Ghatam) and with Kandadevi Vijayaraghavan uncle (violin) and Kumbakonam Saravanan uncle (Mrudhangam), we had nice co-ordination and presented a good concert. The people who had been there to wish the couple also appriciated me as they were going past me.

I now look forward to the trip to Vijayawada and Machilipatnam on the 29th and 30th April to sign of for this month.

Concert at Lord Suryanarayana Temple - Arasavilli - AP 24.04.07



It was so nice to trvel once again by flightr this time to Vizag on way to Lord Sury's temple in Arasavalli, Srikakulam Dist AP. What a wonderful temple which looked like Konark temple from outside. Maintained so well, i understand this was built by Lord Indra himself. The pillars are with intrecate carvings and of great treasure value.

I also had the oppurtunity to visit the world's only temple - Sri Koormam temple for Kurma Avathara of Lord Vishnu where he is seen in the form of Tortoise. understand it is of 2nd century B.C. and it is a pity that it is not maintained properly. The colorful paintings on the corridors are indeed of great and the three dimentional painting of Lord Ranganatha is of special mention. To see a painting made of so early years is mind boggling.

I was very moved by the excellent hosting by Sri Sankar Sarma head priest and co-ordinator of this concert and Sri Parabrahmam - former Thasildhar and President of Rotract Srikakulam Dist. I had a photo taken with Sri Sankar Sarma's family also. HAppy that appa was also felicitated during the concert.

A concert i will remember for ever

Yes this concert for Sri Rama Seva Samidhi, Seshadripuram - Bangalore will be in my mind for ever as i got a beautiful Silver Frame from Bangalore Sri Nagaraj uncle. All credits should go to Sri Ravi uncle (violin) Trivandrum Balaji anna (mrudhangam and Sri EM Subramaniam uncle (Ghatam) who enchansed what ever i performed with thier mastery over their instruments and experience. Thanks to the members and Prof Sri Venkatesh uncle for giving me such a wonderful oppurtunity. Uncle had told me that he will be calling me for performance every yearwhich is indeed a great reward for me.

I also thank B Ananthakrishan (violin artiste) anna for helping me to make a korvai on ragamalika which i tried it in this concert.

A great New Year day 14th April'07.

Yes it was indeed a great day as i performed from 5-630pm at Asthika Samajam and 7-9pm at Sivakami Pethachi Hall for Brahma Gana Sabha. Both had a good turn out and i think both were succesful as co- artists appreciated me. Looking forward to the Villiwakkam concert followed by Bangalore concert on 16th April'07.

Concert under Rhythm & Raga 11th April'07

The cocnert on the 11th Apr'07 was indeed a different one as after a long time i saw that the bride & bridegroom where are traditionally seated but were mingling with the audience and enjoyed the concert. Yes it was a mixed version i.e. both carnatic and film numbers were played.

The were atleast 200 people who listened to the concert till the very end and enjoyed both version of music. Infact when i performed Sahana Saral - from Sivaji people were thrilled and applauded with great whistles also.

Thanks to my team of Villiwakkam Raghuraman - Violin, Pradeep - Tabla, Suri - Bass Guitar, Arjun Ganesh - Mrudhangam, Sridhar - Drums and Harihara Subramaniam - Ghatam along with Sri Thirunavukarasu of Karthik Audio who helped to give a good presentation of a concert for Sri Rngarajan's (from Colombo) daughter's wedding. Our thanks also to Sri Click Ravi - Photographer for this function who was instrumental - recommanded me for this function.

This is my favorite song from Sivaji for which A R Rehman uncle has composed great music. I just heard it, thanks to my appa for buying the original cd album, and have played it with my Yamaha 640 for rhythm and KORG TR for melody.

I enjoyed the concert today - 8th April'07

It was indeed a nice ambience and a perfect setting which we utilised to perform a good concert. I was happy to have two guests who are sishya of Annathakrishnan anna (person in blue shirt) and the foreigner being sishya of Sowrirajan uncle. Both of them appreciated me and said they were surprised that i could perform this way. I am happy i got two new friends for me today.Appa has given a link of a video taken and pls view and give your comments to our email id.

A great temple i visited on the 5th April'07.

Thanks to Annanthakrishnan anna, i got an oppurtunity to perform in this temple of Yagyamurthy perumal on the 5th April'07 . Yes it was indeed a great experience for me and my parents. All the three of us had the same thought running in our minds while coming out, just to keep visiting this temple from now on. I sincerely hope we will be blessed to do to that.

A grand concert in Coimbatore on the 31st Mar'07

Just after finishing the concert presume my 350th at Sri Baktha Anjeneyar temple, Ashoknagar we took Cheran Express to go to Coimbatore for a concert on 31st Mar'07. Amma had made kothamalli sadam and curd rice for all of us for dinner which we took in the train. Annathakrishnan (violin) anna, Thillaisthanam Suriyanarayanan (Mrudhangam) uncle, Bass guitar Suri uncle, Sridhar (drums) anna and Rajagopal (Tabla) uncle praised amma for the great dinner she gave everyone. I also take a share of the compliment as i helped amma to make curd rice!!

On reaching we understood the Bundh called for by the TN Govt. was in full force and so decided to remain indoor in the hotel till the evening. We all played cricket in the room and had timely food also. The party had taken care of us so well that it was like a picnic for us in the hotel.

We went to the venue in the evening and i saw a massive hall and full of richness at the highest level every where. We performed a good concert and it was reflecting with the audience coming in good number near the stage just before the start of the carnatic medley we performed and gave us all a standing applause appreciating the performance. All of us had good dinner and returned the same night by train to Chennai. Ravi uncle, the audio incharge had recorded the concert and has sent me a copy of the audio cd which has really come very good. Thanks uncle.

A performance with difference 28th Mar'07

Yes it was a wedding reception of a Indian with a Singapore based Chinese girl. Also as soon as i entered the venue being a private concert, i saw huge numbers of Tamizh Murasu evening paperwhich was distributed to the audience as it was carrying an advt. of a political leader coming to attend this function. Our team of Karaikal Venkatasubramaniam anna on violin Trivandrum Balaji anna on mrudhangam, Hariharasubramaniam anna on Ghatama nd Sowrirajan uncle performing both Kanjeera and Morsing had good co-ordination throughout the concert.

The function was attend by a large number of people and we initially thought nobody liked the carnatic performance we were rendering. H/ever we realised that every one enjoyed but maintained silence. Infact many of them came to congradulate me and also bought my cds after the concert was over. At the fag end the bride sang very well, few lines of the song "Nilakaigiradhu" and hearing froma Chinese national with that perfection of pronunciation, which left wondering why our own Tamilnadu girls speak defferently in TV Channels.

A good concert straight after finishing the Science exam

It was a good concert, a new experience, which I performed for a private wedding on the 23rd Mar'07. I am saying this because its for the first time i am performing a concert reaching the venue straight after finishing my Science exam in the school. While i was confident my amma was really worried if i could do both well. In fact i did my exam well and waited for appa to pick me up in front of the school. As he had come in the car, due to traffic jam enroute, he reached little late.

We were just in time at the venue and started the concert with the team of Thillaisthanam Suriyanarayanan uncle on mrudhangam, Sridhar anna on pad, Pradeep uncle on tabla, Suri uncle on Bass guitar and Villiwakkam Raghuraman uncle on the Violin. While amma had left with thatha to the venue, i understand every one including Karthik audio uncle helped amma to take things in and setting it up. It was a concept of music ensemble and came out very well. It was also to be mentioned that amma is developing into a good photographer and you will agree with me on seeing the pictures above. Cute ones are mine and the small child's dancing photo.

The audience were almost at the average age of 55+ and they enjoyed this show which was from 1115 am - 1330 hrs. On request from audience i performed carnatic, film, western and devotional song. I was happy that my own music composition for the lyrics of Sri Vairamuthu which i had done the earlier day was staged with amma singing it. Every one appreciated my effort and hope i meet Vairamuthu uncle and play this for him.

I am also very happy that it was in the same function Smt Sudha Raghunathan was singing today and my mama Embar S Kannan will be performing with Ghatam Karthick uncle's heArtbeat concept tmrw morning. It is indeed a great privilege and honour that i got an opportunity in this function. Today i attended the concert at the same venue in which mama was accompanying Sudha aunty and i had a gala time with Nakul (mama's son) palying for almost 2 and half hours.

Felicitation at Infosys

It was indeed a great honor for me to be felicitated by INFOSYS, one of India's leading IT companies during their 10th Anniversary celebrations titled Dhasam on the 15th Mar'07. Athira on violin and Siddharth on drums were also felicitated during this function and we gave a 40 mts short concert which i hope was liked very much by the staff members as they were applauding our efforts. We were given special treatment with separate food court and had a gala time after the concert. Only thing was myself and Athira had exams the next day and yes both of us has done well.

Concert on the 11th Mar'07

The concert on the 11th Mar'07 was a tensed one for all the artists who performed anmely Sri Anayampatti Venkatasubramaniam on violin, Trivandrum balaji on mrudhangam, Suri bass guitar, Pradeep on Tabla and Sri Sridhar on drums as tehy were more worried about my exam on th 12th.

Infact i was happy today as i performed a one hour concert with Pradeep uncle on Tabla for my dear HAri uncle's betrothal in the morning. After that i went home studeid for teh exam & when we were about to leave our car gave some problems. Still we went to ammamma's house by Jayaram uncle's auto, stayed there for 2 hours and then went to the concert hall. I think this hall is the biggest and the best hall in the city.

For this concert my school Technical advisor Smt Chandra Srinivasa and many other teachers from my school and main branch had attended. Every one smiled at me and appreciated my performance including madhuvanthy aunty. My own composition and the two medleys got us great applause and so did the listener's choice songs.

I reached home at 1030pm and today morning got up at 6am. I have done my exam well today and hope to get good score!.

Concert on the 10th Mar'07

After three continuous concerts i got some time to prepare for my final exams which technically starts from the 12th Mar'07 with English Language.

The concert today was on music ensemble pattern and it was attended by almost with Maestro Illayaraja sirs rasikas. When they knew that i know to play film songs they request for few namely ponmalai pozhudhu & Ramanin Mohanam. I also performed his composition Thumbe Vaa a malayalam number and every one appreciated. I had the team of Sri L Ramakrishnan on the violin, Kumbakonam Swaminathan on mrudhangam, Suir on Bass guitar, Sridhar on Drums and Sri Pradeep on Tabla.

It was so nice that my interview which was recorded on the 8th Mar'07 was on air in Radio Mirchi from 9 - 1030. Appa had a brilliant idea and carried a two in to hear and record my interview. As the concert was over at 855pm appa switched the radio on and every one in the hall were amazed to hear me on radio mirchi. Thank you appa for the wonderful thought!
